About Us
Flemingdon Park Ministry (FPM) has been building community and walking alongside the people of Flemingdon Park for over 40 years. As a community based organisation we serve the people of Flemingdon Park.
In the years since, the staff of FPM has been a visible presence of hope and friendship in the community. FPM is a safe place for all people to come to, and through our various programs, we build community and bridge the gaps that separate people and their access to healthy and affordable food.
In Flemingdon Park, we focus on addressing food insecurity and social isolation.
Languages we speak: English, Spanish, Farsi, Pashto, French
Our Mission
Safeguarding human dignity through compassionate service and community development.
What We Do
FPM creates spaces for people to gather together, learn new skills, make friends, support each other, volunteer and give back to their community. We walk alongside our community and together find creative ways of encouraging health and wellness, deepening friendships, and accessing support in the neighbourhood.

“Food insecurity is one of the unpalatable facts of life in Toronto. Being retired and not being in a position to address that with money I am happy to make a small “hands on” contribution. Working directly with the seeds and the soil makes this all the more meaningful for me.”
“I always enjoy doing the volunteering for my community. I find this is a way of giving back to my community. About the food distribution, it was a really good opportunity to get in direct contact with the people and find what they need, provide them at least with food and vegetables that come from an organic source. We make a good connection with people in the Flemo area and it starts to build a trust for them.”

“You know after COVID started, we started to distribute food and vegetables for our seniors and now at Angela James Arena for our community members. It’s an honour and I’m just really happy to be involved in this program. I know so many people from my community, they are in need of vegetables – it’s so expensive for them. Most of the people are newcomer or immigrants here in Flemingdon, I’m just so grateful for the help we receive from the Flemingdon ministry and the farm.”
“ We like the program very much, exercise is good for health. We get together and have fun. The program’s been here for 10 years, we want more people to join if you got more money to make program bigger”

“At English class I am learning to speak better. It has helped me to solve problems like going to the doctor, or grocery shopping or at the bank because I can communicate better. It has also helped with my mental health because I am happy to be here and speak with other people.”
“I have learnt a lot, I was alone and depressed, I had two bouts of cancer, the staff here encouraged me to keep coming and I started feeling better. I come to many programs; it makes me feel blessed to be around FPM’s people”

“I don’t speak much English, but when I’m with the group I listen and I learn, people are together here, staff are very nice”
“Over the past 2 years I have learned so much at this English class. On Mondays I am always happy to get up in the morning and come to the class to learn more.”
